Suave Dan Hardesty, a convicted murderer, is apprehended by Steve Burke, a police detective, in Hong Kong and accompanied on the SS Maloa headed for San Francisco. On board, Dan romances Joan Ames, a terminally ill socialite. She is unaware that his ultimate destination is San Quentin. Both realize that their time together is fleeting so they make a pact to meet at a Mexican night club on New Years Eve. 如此缠绵悱恻又感伤无奈，很喜欢这个意味深长的结局。Bill Powell太迷人，他英俊悲伤的脸和深邃的眼神真是刻在我心上了。另外对Kay也好感倍增，30年代的华纳皇后好歹不是盖的。

故事还是很不错的，而且拍的也不浪费时间，值得一看。BTW，有很多配乐，惊喜。
