与迪士尼的《小姐与流浪汉》《101斑点狗》《狐狸与猎犬》这类犬片趣味迥异，产自大洋洲的本片有种red-neck式质朴、凶残和幽默；主角黑白牧羊犬跟羊群对峙、救主人乌龙、发情绕母狗，颜艺感人，弧光是脱猫性显狗性，非常意料之外；动物们个个表情包，第一次见把猫往老虎狮子方向画的，那只尖嘴鸟居然有脱胎自八大山人笔下的感觉，最亮眼的还是对老鼠群的刻画，爱伦坡看了都说好、倍儿哥特；其实故事麻麻的，画风好看加一星（有点像西尔维·乔迈＋乡土型美漫。）
