Country Music is a documentary miniseries produced by Ken Burns and written by Dayton Duncan that premiered on PBS on September 15, 2019. The eight-part series chronicles the history and prominence of country music in American culture.
Country Music will chronicle the history of a uniquely American art form, rising from the experiences of remarkable people in distinctive regions of our nation. 前面好看，后面两三集逐渐变成了当代歌星的流水账，谁和谁结婚了离婚了，谁的歌打上了排行榜，卖了多少张……个人叙事脱离了时代社会，又缺乏深度，就会非常无趣。歌词也由娓娓道来的人生悲欢变成了痴男怨女的酒廊调，我是欣赏不来。还好最后一个镜头给了Mother Maybelle。

4.5 终于有空看完长达16小时的音乐类型纪录片,这片按着时间脉络,逐渐引入乡村流派发展史的时地人,并透过旁白和受访者的旁述为这些事物作简单评价,除了因为美国社会现况而开宗明义说乡村OG都有受黑人音乐(家)的引导外,更可了解乡村为什么总是建基于电台,乡村艺人与厂牌的种种磨合,以及乡村艺人爱说的传承到底是怎样的这些现象;刻画重要的事物对纪录片固然重要,但我觉得启发进一步的探索才是纪录"片"更重要的功能,所以这片提供的现场录像让这片不只是有声书,而让观众体会乡村音乐的美好;为令这片不被指责内容太浅,导演加入同样重要但少提的与乡村有关人物如Minnie Pearl,Johnny Rodriguez,最适合对乡村史有小了解,但想再钻研的音乐爱好者观看;鸡蛋里挑骨头的话,头几集也许因为照片较模糊,而有另一旁白描述,但偶跟主旁白和受访者撞声,而且内容还不重要...
