故事描述在达哥圭这个小国内，罗樵与顾得烈两族之间发生内战，达西诺的母姐被顾得烈的手下士兵奸杀，从而使达西诺以后纵情于风花雪月之中，同时也写了他在内战时期的种种政治上和情场上的经历。
The wealthy playboy son of an assassinated South American diplomat discovers that his father was really murdered on orders of the corrupt president of the country--a man who was his father's friend and who, in fact, his father had helped put into power.
