Steve Grey, reporter for the Daily Star, has a habit of scooping all the other papers in town. When Henry Mander is investigated for the murder of his shady business partner, Grey is one step ahead of the police to the extent that he often dictates his story in advance of its actual occurrence. He leads the police through an 'open and shut' case resulting in Mander being tried, convicted and sentenced to death. Columnist Mary Shannon is in love with Steve but she sees him struggle greatly with his last story before Mander's execution. 吉米的长片处女作lmao一米九的大个儿竟然名叫Shorty简直了！去请屈塞到辛辛监狱采访死刑犯，从车里悄摸儿爬出来那场戏真的好可爱好可爱...片子还是蛮好看的，片名的双关用得好，反转挺精彩，女子跳河的画面就知道后面还有用，就是没想到花心资本家那么无动于衷的看了报纸轻描淡写一句“it's a fad now”，真是死有余辜。片长抱歉了点，屈塞内心的挣扎拍得更丰富点就好了。
真凶竟然是......不由让我想起了侦探小说之十诫
