Who's mirroring whom? The media watches the kids and sell them the image of themselves, then kids watch those images and get inspired to be that mooks and midriffs in the TV set, and media is there watching them do that in order to create new image for them to sell on.
Documentary by that same guy (Rushkoff), very similar in terms of content and message to "Generation Like". This one was probably very insightful when still fresh, but now it's slightly outdate as the internet had not colonized our lives yet. Interesting watch though
